The Corn is as High as an Elephant's Eye...

It was 100F yesterday, and is supposed to be quite hot again today. The wonderful (or amazing) thing was just how quickly it cooled down in the evening.  By 7:00pm it was very pleasant outside, and by 8:30pm it was almost too cool - chilly on our over-heated bodies!
The deer took advantage of the cool morning to graze, and drink out of our birdbaths, before settling down for the heat of the day.

I do have a "finish" to share today.

Design - Ear of Corn
Chart - "Farmer's Market" #39
Designer - Prairie Schooler
Fabric - 28 count Natural Pearl Zweigart linen
Fibers - DMC
Started - 11 August 2010
Completed - 14 August 2010

This was a fun stitch - just five colors - two greens, and three yellow/golds.  That said, there is lots of shade / shadowing in the design.

Yesterday I bought another hosta.
This one is called "Great Expectations" and I love it!

I also bought a new pot (1/2 price!) for its home.

Weird, after reading the text I was amazed there were only 5 colors in the design. Seeing the picture I would have tought there were at least 8 or 9 in it.

Love the corn - OMG, we eat so much sweet corn in the summer it's ridiculous. Seriously - just about EVERY, SINGLE meal!
